Terrier Yoko climbs Pen Y Fan to raise money for his rescue centre


5-12 months-aged terrier Yoko climbed the greatest peak in South Wales to raise revenue for the rescue centre thats been getting care of him for the final 3 decades.

Yoko was taken in by the RSPCA in February 2021 and has been waiting for a new home ever due to the fact. As effectively as raising income for the charity, the climb also marks Yoko’s third 12 months in kennels.

Natasha, Yoko, and animal operations guide Ebony Poole took on the climb with Natashas dog, Buddy. It took them 2 hrs and 40 minutes to climb the snowy 886m (2,906ft) peak on 4 March and return to the commencing point.

Natasha extra, Yoko really loved the climb, he was complete of electricity! He appreciated all the new smells, and was really thrilled when we strike the snow and he started sniffing down tons of holes. Equally Yoko and Buddy bought the zoomies and ended up chasing all around following each other. When we got to the prime, Yoko’s ears ended up flapping all about the spot wherever it was so windy, he was sniffing the air and having it all in, it was wonderful to see him out and savoring nature.

Yoko wore his undertake me lead for the climb, but no 1 they satisfied showed any desire, and Yoko – who is described as “a sweet and cheeky minor puppy with a significant personality” – is however ready for his best match.

“He enjoys to be exterior and can be observed both digging holes or sticking his head down them,” the RSPCA claims. “He has a strong chase intuition so adopters will want to ensure he, and other animals, are held safe and sound. He is extremely clever so would prosper performing agility in his new property. He is also pretty energetic so will require owners who can continue to keep him bodily and mentally entertained.

“Yoko is looking for an adult-only house without having other animals he could chase but he enjoys going for walks and playing with other puppies when out on walks.”

The fundraising challenge has lifted over 2,000 so much, with the group nevertheless amassing donations.
